I am flying Air Canada business from YVR – ORD then Turkish Airlines business ORD-IST. Do you would if I would be allowed access to the Polaris Lounge? The rules about determining what is considered a "connecting" airport are confusing me since transborder flights are often not considered international. Anyway, if I am not allowed into the Polaris Lounge, do you know which lounge I would have access to? Thanks in advance.
Yes, you will, since you’re flying international Star Alliance business class out of Chicago. As I understand it, the "connecting" rules only apply to passengers travelling on United Airlines flights.
Great Review! Can’t wait to check it out soon.
Exact same situation happened to me when I was flying TK. Terminal 5 is far and the bus takes forever. The security queue is also super slow. An agent from TK escorted us through. Burger >> fried chicken. You didn’t miss out on much 😉
Perfect timing! Traveling through ORD this weekend and looking forward to checking out this lounge. Good to know about the airside transfer bus cut off time. My TK flight departs at 9:30pm from T5 so I might have to do the same and exit security and re-clear. How long was that process Ricky? how much time should I allow?
I’d say you best grab dinner at the Dining Room at 6-6:30pm before it fills up, and get going by 8:30pm. It’s a pretty simple navigation process if you follow the signs, but you might be waiting for quite a while for the inter-terminal bus (I was lucky in that it arrived just as I was exiting T1).
Great review of the Polaris Lounge, we are planning to visit it in late April this year. This helps us a lot about the timing of our connection to Europe. I notice you mention the lounge is in terminal 3, however, on United Airline website and ORD’s site, they list the lounge in Terminal 1, near gate C18?
Thanks for the good review.
Sorry, I meant Terminal 1 (fixed). Got mixed up with the EWR Polaris Lounge which I also recently got to visit 🙂
