    Update: March 2022.
The nap nooks are no longer there. There are a few reclined loungers in the back corner of the library but they’re not that comfortable for a sleep. As well, the prayer rooms are now multi-faith.

Hmmm, we have a 9h25m layover next year, not sure if that will disqualify us from one of the sleeping rooms.
We’ve been there before and my wife does not want to go into the city. We’ll probably stay at the lounge the whole time.

As another option you should see if you are eligible for the free layover hotel. I believe a 9h connection will cut it, but it’ll also depend on whether your specific flights are eligible based on Turkish’s schedule.

Does this apply to award flights and if so, any idea who to talk to about this? My wife and I have a nine hour and five minute connection. Honestly, I’d rather use the lounge sleeping rooms, but if that’s out, better to slog to a hotel room than nothing.

Is that your sombrero or Jessica’s that your holding in the restroom photo? lol

Thank you, Ricky, for this post.
We had 3.5 hours layover at this new airport last May. The lounge in itself is beautiful and very good at services but finding the lounge and walking to it take quite a bit of time, and because of our departure gate is at the one end of the airport, we have to leave the lounge a bit early. It took us another 20-25 minutes to get to the gate. What IST needs is the people mover escalator for those just want to get to the departure gate on time. Otherwise, you have to walk through the massive airport, just like window-shopping in a megamall.

Yeah, the sheer size of the new IST airport and the lack of people movers is really frustrating. We were lucky in that our gate wasn’t far from the lounge, but it can certainly be quite a trek to some of the more distant gates in the airport.

Was here in last month and it has become my fav lounge in terms of variety, service, and quality. It was so good that I regret going out for a 1/2 day tour of the city (as posted by Ricky in his earlier blog). If you have time, go for the full day tour. The half day tour is not worth it. Enjoy the lounge instead.
