It seems the Chambers Club no longer provides lunch.
Stayed there for 5 nights last summer. I asked for an upgrade to chambers suite but hotel was full. Still, I was surprised the front desk managed to get me the first night in a suite. The welcome amenity was an underwhelming plate of dried fruits and nuts and two large bottles of sparkling water. The suite has separate living room, king size bed and bathtub with the rubber ducky. The room probably has 20+ foot ceiling! However, perhaps because of the size, I felt the suites were not as clean compared to the rooms in the Barlow wing. I have dust allergies and felt the curtains and carpet haven’t been deep cleaned in a while. I was glad to move to the Barlow wing which faced the British Library. Although, the room you stayed at looked much better. Also Ricky, I’m not sure if you noticed the shortcut to the Tube. As you exit the Booking Office towards the giant statue, beside the Mi + Me is a staircase leading to the Tube.
I stayed there during the low season at the end of January (AAA rate around 220 pounds), and I was only upgraded to a chambers wing junior suite using upgrade certificates. They cleared a week or so prior to the stay.
That might need to be my strategy next time around for getting myself into the Chambers Wing.
Great review. I have a booking at the Edition next month, maybe I will switch to this one!?
Might be a good shout since this one’s Cat 6 vs. Cat 7, and especially if you have Platinum status or above, since Edition hotels don’t provide free breakfast for Platinum members if I recall.
Family and I stayed inside the clock tower of St. Pancras – it’s not part of the St Pan Ren, unfortunately. To sit in a living room under the clock mechanism is something magical. We always wondered what the St Pan Ren looked like inside. 🙂
I did not realize that you can invite outside guests to the executive lounges. This is great information.
Most hotels have a policy of "one guest only", but the Chambers Club didn’t seem too strict about this.
