As a Marriott manager, I have to say, just reading your review that you seem like one, pretentious pain in the ass “elite” member. We have both awesome elite members, who fully appreciate everything we give them and also understand when something isn’t available. On the other hand, we have the ones who are always wanting more, without paying of course, thinking we owe them everything and don’t understand when everything isn’t complimentary. It looks like you are clearly in the latter category.
I stayed there last August, when the terasse was open. It was lovely, but (perhaps due to COVID) had to make reservations to get into the pool, which was only meant to be for an hour (although this seemed to not be enforced). You could also order from the restaurant/bar on the terasse as well, and while the food was good, the service was spotty. I’d certainly give them some leeway because of both the pandemic and the newness of the place. The gym was one of the best ones I’ve ever been in (maybe next to The NED in London). Would definitely stay again, and would love the opportunity to see it fully staffed/busy outside of the pandemic.
I also stayed in December, the hotel was nice but I was a bit disappointed that they didn’t recognize my platinum status and didn’t upgrade my room. I didn’t ask before hand as I wanted to see what they would do.
I stayed in the same suite in October and totally loved it. The gym was so impressive. Only the JW Edmonton may have a slightly bigger gym than the Humaniti. Same experience with the breakfast. The food was good but we ended paying like $20. The milk was not free. The cappuccino was not free. And the server didn’t tell us the extra charges in the beginning.
I stayed at the Humaniti back in November and unfortunately, they were pretty stingy with the breakfast too. Had a separate menu with small charges just like yours. Disappointing. Food was indeed really good tho
