Also of note at Hilton Whistler is the sorry lack of parking available. We were there at a less busy time of year and the parking was absolutely full and they didn’t even know that their parking was full.
We are also diamonds (both wife and I). We had been stuck with a room with two double beds at booking and had requested a switch to a king room. We didn’t even ask for an upgrade, but they would not even switch us to a king room that was available on the website.
Overall, we were also very disappointed by this hotel and wouldn’t use it again.
Another parking option is to go to the convention center, there is an indoor all day parking available for $20/day (high season). It’s a walking distance from the Hilton, the caveat is you have to go there and pay every day (the parking app does not work for that spot). There were enough spaces available when I was there in the last week of Feb.
I’ve stayed in a fancier TownPlace suite! Based on your review of this and the Marriott, Whistler leaves a lot to be desired with the mid-grade chain hotels.
As a Diamond member you would be entitle to Free “higher” speed internet. My experience 2 weeks ago at the Hilton Whistler was that it was fast enough to watch videos on my phone without hiccups. I stayed at the 2 nd floor in the North Tower.
Just for information: Hilton Honors ave changed the number of points required for many of its properties as of March 10, 2022. Major point devaluation! Some properties have a maximum point requirement for a standard room, from 95K, now they are up to 110K.
I have kept watching the Mango House in Seychelles for a good rate of 95K, now becoming 110K.
Flyertalk post and LoyalLobby confirmed this devaluation.
