In terms of shoulder room, I find that the seats on TK’s 787 (and 350) are better as the armrests can be lowered to create more room while sleeping.
Being 6’5” I found the 787 a little cramped, the 777 is much more comfortable unless you get stuck in the middle seat. The 787 has the advantage of direct aisle access for all J seats and a quieter cabin. If I am on a red eye I would pick the 777 with a window seat, if I am on a flight on which I do not plan on sleeping I would be neutral on aircraft choice. I have not yet flown on their 330 or 350 in J, hoping for an equip swap on my flights next month in & out of LAX.

It’s because pods aren’t actually 4 across. They overlap with the pods in front of them. So it’s actually something between 4 and 8 seats across.
On TK’s 77W, there are 28 seats between doors 1 and 2. On AC’s 77W, which has 4-across pods, they fit 26 seats between doors 1 and 2. So it’s essentially the same number of seats even though one is 7-across and another is 4-across.
I, for one, LOVE the spacious feeling cabin of TK’s 77W. I don’t feel like I’m sleeping in a coffin and can sleep in any position I want. LO’s 787 have similar seats (but 6-across as the 787 is smaller) and it provides a great sleep as well.
2 reasons: The 777 has a considerably wider cabin compared to the 787 and of course it simply comes down to the seat design, where Turkish have unfortunately made a terrible choice with their 787s and A350s. This is the same seat airlines such as Singapore Airlines use for 2-hour flights! Turkish use it on near-14h flights! Huge fail.
