I just flew GF 16 the other day.
It has changed to the A321LR permanently it seems. However, I was not disappointed with my experience. I had an empty seat next to me and the Collins Diamond seat was perfectly comfortable. I actually slept better on it versus the Apex Suite on my connection to Bangkok.
The menu seemingly hasn’t changed. I went with the spinach tortellini instead of the chicken, and it was absolutely delicious! Worth mentioning that Do&Co seemingly caters this flight.
Service was absolutely excellent.
Overall I’d definitely recommend Gulf Air
Hint: As much as I hate saying this, avoid row 1 on the 787 as there were issues with bathroom odours and noise. I’d most likely choose row 3 next time.
Hi Ricky,
Just wondering how you assigned your seat for this case. I also booked visa Aeroplan for Gulf Air but can’t figure it out. Any help is appreciated!
I did the same Zen and reached out via twitter to Gulf Air and they added the seats. The booking still doesn’t show up under manage booking on their website.
My wife and I flew Gulf Air DXB-BAH-BKK in November, a very good meal on the short DXB-BAH leg, and an excellent meal on the flight to BKK – you should have tried the Arabic mezze and the lamb, the lamb on that flight was surprisingly excellent. Service was excellent on both flights. Their DXB lounge, though small, had a very good self serve buffet, but their huge BAH lounge was disappointing as limited food and so-so drinks due to Covid.
Interesting that the BAH lounge wasn’t a great experience for you. They had restored the food and drink menu when I visited in February 2022, and they looked ready to fully open the lounge with all of its features (pool table, foosball, virtual golf, etc.) Review coming soon!
