Hi ☺️ Can you access Centurion and Plaza lounges showing only the Amex Plat? Or Do you also need the physical Priority Pass card?
Showing the Platinum Card itself will grant you entry.
Do they verify the card (i.e. match boarding pass to card holder) or is simply showing it enough?
They do match the name to your boarding pass.
Good to know you can access it with the Plaza Premium lounge access, wish I had known that when I travelled out of YUL last month 🙂
We visited both in December before our flight to Brazil. The AF lounge was crowded and bright and they weren’t serving the same Champs that you had (it was Champagne but I didn’t recognize the brand). Food looked decent but was pretty picked through and not completely replenished.
Thought the MLL was way more stylish, spacious and had much nicer lighting. That said, the food at the MLL was a downgrade and the bartender was probably the most miserable person I have encountered in years. He was so bad I ended up writing a note to AC.
In the future I’d probably visit the AF lounge if I was hungry but the MLL if I wanted to relax. Nice to have options though!
YMMV but the lounge was closed even before the published closing time when I tried to visit November 9, 2021. I tweeted Plaza Premium but got no response.
I’ve been twice to this lounge now and really enjoy it. It’s the only lounge in all of YUL serving proper champagne and a self serve hot buffet.
Please Ricky don’t call Piper-Heidsieck champagne a bubbly, you’ll become “persona non grata” across France!
The Maple Leaf lounge (International) at YUL is not bad, for a MLL. It’s also superior to many other North American lounges (US carriers). But the AF lounge is much better, except for the crowding aspect though the AC lounge can get also very packed.
