Great article! This is the only source I could find which outlined the issue of mixed doses! Thanks.

Crowds, people from many nations, inadequate surveillance once tourists are in Greece all spell looming disaster. Hospitals not equipped for mass Covid epidemic. Go at your own risk and chech health insurance. Many policies exclude pandemic coverage.

I am a little confused about air line requirements versus entry requirements for different countries. A fully vaccinated Canadian needs neither a negative PCR or antigen test for entering Greece nor quarantine after arrival but does Air Canada accept this as well or does it still require a negative recent test result for boarding regardless of vaccination records?

Airlines typically enforce the destination’s entry requirements on their behalf. If Air Canada is flying you to Greece, they’ll want to check your proof of vaccination, and if you have that, you’re good.

The article states that provincial vaccination certificates are acceptable proof of vaccination upon arrival – but what about at restaurants? Or when trying to board a ferry?

Referring to mixed doses – does anyone know if greece considers such persons fully vaccinated?

    1. Ricky YVR

Yes – a reader had called the embassy about this and gotten confirmation. We’re looking into ways that we can provide this information to readers, though it isn’t easy since most countries treat mixed doses as a very niche edge case.

Might be worth an article on Canada’s vaccine mixing approach, and the impact it may have on your travels. I’ve been hearing countries here and there do not currently recognize some of us as fully vaccinated and turn us away if we didn’t get the same vaccine for both shots.

Will definitely be addressing this topic in the next Travel Update video.

Racing this on my AC flight back from Greece .just spent 2 great weeks but please note that the cases have exploded recently especially on the islands . Restrictions are being added on the almost daily bases. Spent last night in Athens and all indoor spaces are now closed . No bars no restaurants indoors . Masks are mandatory but selectively enforced. Also note that PCR test is mandatory for return and AC was very rigorous in enforcing it prior to boarding . Even double vaxed people like me test positive more often then we think which means 2 extra lock up weeks in Greece . Greece is extremely crowded right now and with cases exploding the risk is very real . Something to keep in mind. There is also rumours of a pending imminent lock down in certain areas.
