I missed out on the great deal…as I often do (damn!) but as James said it isn’t really their first outing to my home airport of YVR.
That said, it’s a new setup. I don’t know if it was 7 days a week before, but it was frequent and on a 738, which I’m sure was a lot less comfortable than the 332 they’ll be flying now twice a week.
There’s a lot of Fijian people in Vancouver and Air Pacific was pretty successful (anecdotally) before so I can only assume this will do well and get upped from 2 days a week in the future.
Plenty of demand for YVR-HNL/Australia as well so if the connections are priced right people will jump on them no doubt. As a YVR guy, I’m always happy to see new (old) carriers at YVR.
Not really their first time at YVR. Air Pacific (which became Fiji Air) operated a NAN-HNL-YVR service in the early 2000s.
