Hey. I noticed you didn’t mention the personal gold rewards card. Can you still throw that in there, making it a 3-carriage train?
Quick question. You note "Well, by cycling through the Platinum Card and the Business Gold Card each year, you’d still be able to earn over 120,000 MR points per year, which is enough for a big fancy trip". You also note " u’d earn 60,000 MR points from the Platinum Card and 40,000 MR points from the Business Gold. Throw in two self-referrals for 15,000 MR and 10,000 MR respectively, and you’ve got plenty to work with." How do you cycle these each year if Amex limits the bonus to one card per lifetime ? or am I missing something ?
Tim, the once in a lifetime rules are not enforced.
Even though I’m disappointed! The AMEX business is still pretty good compared to our friends down south. $10,000 USD spend to get the welcome bonus of 50,000 and another $10,000 USD to get 25,000 is a lot harder for many of us here.
First off the US version comes with 200$ airline travel credits so now the af is only 99$ and most churners won’t apply for the card as is and will call in to get a 100k offer in 10k spend. Further keep in mind you can’t compare us mr to cad mr due to transfer partners but you can convert at the exchange rate.
Gah!!! Was literally going through your referral link LAST NIGHT but didn’t have my other Amex card to plug into the application as a reference. Went to do it this morning and everything had changed. Lesson learned!

I signed up for this in February and I’m in the process of meeting my minimum $5k spend. Would I still get the 75k points when I meet the minimum spend or will I only get 60k points?
You will get the 75k. The 60k is for all applications going forward.
So glad I got the card in December, and then just this past Monday was approved for the Biz Gold. Based on these changes, it’s not likely I’ll get the card again.
