Hey Ricky, how do you book NRT-ITM-HND all on Avios? I searched NRT-HND and it says British Airways does not fly this route, only NRT-ITM works.

Search TYO-ITM round-trip and you’ll be able to book from/to both Tokyo airports. Or just search for and book two separate one-ways.

Sounds great as usual, Ricky. Your the man.

Side note: Don’t worry about rain in Vancouver in July…that’s very rare. Our summers are extremely dry despite popular belief. Had to get that in there!

You’re using the Avios sweet spot correctly… as a transfer… the only way it makes sense. People who stay in Tokyo and book a ticket to Osaka becaus they think they’re getting a deal are silly.

First class in Japan is the bullet train for major routes. Flying is considered budget travel, particularly between Tokyo and Osaka on LCCs. Their airports (except Fukuoka) aren’t convenient and the trains definitely are.

    Enjoy Japan’s kitchen!!!

Nice trip. I will be at the Ritz in Kyoto around the same time (early July) Looking forward to it. Enjoy!

Thanks for this! I had caught a few posts of her trip report but it’s nice to go back and look at all the recommendations.

Looks like an awesome trip. Just got back from StR NYC and it was everything and more! For the Bentley, go between 11am-2pm for best shot without paying for a reservation. We tried in the evening and it was always in use. We were only there two nights and the second day it wasn’t available at all due to filming at the hotel and the road was blocked off so keep that in mind if you’re there while they’re filming. Either way you’ll love it. And get The King’s Bowl at the bar, delicious!

Take my one spot back and replace it with Gyu Ho. I cannot believe i forgot about this gem. Even higher recommendation 🙂

    Good luck! Kyoto is fabulous.

Go to % Arabica Kyoto for coffee.

For food, it would be easy to recommend 100s of places (like kaseki at Kikunoi), but I only want to leave you with one: Tempura Matsu – do not let the name fool you. Try to get reservations for you and your partner at the bar. Please do it. Chef Matsuno Toshio has really taken something and made is special. It has been a few years since I have been back though.
