Best advice I could find on getting the Ghana visa for Canadians – THANKS! I already booked my flight for August then read about the Invitation Letter (which I had to do for China – but I don’t know anyone in Ghana so your answer was perfect). Thanks!

    Hey Ricky!
I have a question and I hope you can answer.
Do I need to make an appointment when I go to the consular office in Toronto?

I did not need to make an appointment; I simply showed up during office hours. In fact, I had attempted to make an appointment but couldn’t reach the office through either phone or email.

    Hey Ricky!
I have a question and I hope you can answer.
I’m currently getting all the documents required together to apply for a visa for Ghana. When they say "Proof of yellow fever immunization", is a copy of the vaccin paper good enough or do they need the original? Thanks in advance, your input is much appreciated.

I provided them with the original yellow booklet when I submitted the application at the consular office. They simply looked at it and gave it back to me. I’d imagine that a copy would possibly work too, but just to be on the safe side I’d recommend showing them the original.

Great! Thanks for the advice! Good luck with your next travel plans!

I travel to Ghana for work a few times a year and have had to enter that consular many times. I’ve had some smooth encounters and some terrible ones with that staff so I’m glad to hear things worked out. Looking forward to a post about what you did/saw/ate in Accra!
