I have an existing card and it is being switched to the MBNA rewards card last month. It does not get the partner flies free or free bags,
They had an offer of 20,000 points if you spent $2000 in a period of time but I can’t find the deadline and am on holiday 2 Factor of course does not work as my home phone is on my account. Any idea when the offer expires? (Deadline for $2000?)

It would be end of November

November 30th (at least that’s what my offer was – spend $2,000 from Sept 1 – Nov 30)

Wow! I used to live in Alaska and had a card that I switched to an MBNA card when I moved back to Canada. I love this airline and am so glad I have my grandfathered card.

    This is sad!
A question though, as I have never redeemed on American Airlines:
Do I book only over the phone – if I want to redeem for flights out of YYZ to MIA on American Airlines?
    Thanks upfront.

I canceled my Alaska last week and applied again after seeing the post. Yes, I’ve got it approved again. Sad to see one of my favorite cards is stepping out of the Canadian market.

Thanks for the update. Just applied and was approved for the WE MC. One final top up to my Alaska account. Now I just hope they’ll give 90 days notice of any redemption changes. I’d like to book a Cathay reward for early ’24.

“They will still be able to continue using there cards as normal.”

the fact that the representative does not know the difference between “there” and “their” …..sad
