Love the new page layout on American Express Canada. Feels very similar to US website.
For those that can’t avail themselves of a referral link, I believe the 75,000 offer is available as a public offer at least through a link on the Air Canada website.
Good point, here’s the Air Canada link for those who need it: https://www.aircanada.com/ca/en/aco/home/aeroplan/credit-cards/amex/offer.html
I can’t find the link to refer from the personal card to the business card. I hit the refer now button but don’t see the option for “other cards”.
Am I missing it?
My error. The “other card” option comes after you receive the link not before you send it.
That additional $12,000 spend over 6 months for 30k points to hit the much touted 75k total is still a hard pass. Seriously, $17k spend, what is this a US Biz Plat? To each their own, but there are vastly easier and more productive uses of that marginal $12k in spending for other issuers, or even among other Aeroplan products.
I can see your point, Mitch, especially if your objective is to earn as many points in as little time as possible. But with Amex bringing in once-in-a-lifetime limitations, a good longer-term strategy might instead seek to squeeze every last drop of value out of each card before moving on to the next. There’s a lot of value to be had in the extra 30K Aeroplan points on the Reserve Card, even if it does take six months and $6K in spending to unlock.
The spend thresholds overlap – you can use the same purchases for both. So if you hit $2k in each of the first 3 months, you’d be covered for the $5k spend. It’s still a steep requirement, but it’s really only $12k if you spread your purchases properly over the 6-month period.
