Got a question for you, when you are booking a mini-RTW with a <24h stop and you have checked baggage, does the airline hang on to your bag and automatically transfer it or do they expect you to pick it up and hang on to it?
I am planning a mini-RTW trip with several <24h stops to see certain cities and cant find any information on whether I have to pick up my checked luggage while in transit.
On some of my travels I remember I had to pick up my luggage and take it to another counter before proceeding with my trip.

It’ll depend on the exact connection city. You can usually ask them to short-check it or check it all the way through, depending on your preferences.
