We just stayed here as well, at the end of November. By far the best Park Hyatt experience (or really any Hyatt) we have had. We used to be diamond and then gold in the previous Hyatt program and stayed in the Park Hyatts in Paris (where we were treated quite shabbily as diamonds) and Vienna (where we were given an upgrade (for our 25th anniversary), then had it taken away and where our room wasn’t ready until 6 pm, with no compensation) as well as numerous Hyatt Grands and Regencies. This time, we were simply regular members of the program and were given a very large suite for our two night stay! We booked on points because the nightly rate during our stay was $470 USD plus taxes and fees (a crazy expensive rate for this hotel). With our upgrade, we ended up getting 5.59 US cents per point for our Hyatt points, so pretty sweet. Meals are crazy cheap at this Park Hyatt (we had a la carte breakfast for about $8 each (just don’t get the orange juice), Paris was north of $70 each), so the lack of breakfast benefit was no big deal. There were very large tour groups of seniors staying while we were there (mostly off of river cruises). For future guests, note that the laundry service in the hotel is a horrific deal in Siem Reap. We looked at the laundry service and it was USD5.50 for a shirt. We took 4 kilos of laundry down the street and it was cleaned and folded overnight for USD4 total. Best guess, it would have been close to USD100 at the Park Hyatt.
I can also heartily recommend this Park Hyatt and it has renewed our faith in the Hyatt brand
Having stayed in almost a dozen PHs, I would definitely agree that the Park Hyatt luxury branding is more understated/minimalist compared to other hotel luxury brands where it’s more over the top and in your face. As a younger couple, we appreciate this modern approach.
Nice, thorough review. When you check out; you could advise the management team of the URL instead of just the Trip Advisor brief review(s).
