Hey, Ricky! Any thoughts on U.S. cards SPG cards to get before the Bonvoy changes happen, given the once-in-a-lifetime policy? I’m thinking of grabbing the Personal SPG since it’s being discontinued and being replaced by a different card.
Hey Ricky,
Do you think AMEX will issue new credit cards in Canada once the Bonvoy program goes live? If so, I am wondering if now is a good time to get the SPG Personal and Business cards, maybe with the hopes that the new cards will be an entirely new product, and thus, we would be re-eligible for their signup bonuses?
I do think we’ll see a new line of Marriott Bonvoy credit cards relatively soon. Nevertheless, people still get the repeat signup bonuses even if it’s the same card (the terms are not consistently enforced), so I wouldn’t necessarily factor that into the equation.
Hi Ricky,
For a future article, do you mind going more indepth on how to earn Gold/Platinum Status with Mattress Runs, Meeting Room bookings and Status Challenges? Thank you.
Coming right up!
Hi Ricky
I agree with all you have said. However, is there any hotel points systems that you think could be superior to Marriott? Especially for Canadians?
If I read it right no matter what happens, Marriott is still the way to go.

Yep, Marriott Bonvoy is still the way to go for Canadians. The other hotel programs would require diversification into US credit cards.
