I just transferred some of my Avion points to my AA account a few days ago, and the points posted in my AA account today, however they posted without a bonus.
Is this normal?
Do the bonus points form this promotion post later separately?
Yep, it posts separately. When I did my transfer I was informed the bonus miles could take up to four weeks to show up.
Thanks for the post! One correction: As of January 16, Canada and the contiguous US are once again a single award region on the AA award charts.
Thanks for this! I see this now… they really didn’t present this information very well in the award chart at all. Going to make the required changes to the article.
If someone has Avion miles and is looking to transfer should they use this AA offer or wait for an Avios offer. I was waiting for the next Avios offer but you make a compelling case for AA.
Yeah it depends on your travel goals and which specific trips you’re planning to take. If some of the redemptions I’ve outlined do interest you, then there’s a case for transferring to AA.
If you don’t have any clear travel plans at the moment, then keeping your points with Avion for now is probably your best bet.
Everyone’s situation is different. Depends on your destination/if you want to fly an aspirational product.
If you check frequently, it’s actually not that uncommon to find QF F space.
hi Ricky: for the occasional traveller (1 big trip/yr) who wants to redeem points for business class, is there another option besides expert flyer? Or is it better to use a booking service instead of paying this fee?
You can always use different email addresses to sign up for new five-day free trials every time you need to search for availability. The best feature about ExpertFlyer though (seat alerts) would require a subscription.
