Without a doubt, Aeromexico has gotten so much worse! We’ve flown their Premier class for over a decade. We have flown with them twice this year, a total of 4 flights that were probably the worst experiences I have every had with an airline to date. We went through Mexico City, and the airport is disorganized and confusing at the best of times but check in at the Premier lines took well over an hour. We sat in the AM lounge which was ok at best, and also moved ourselves to the Centurion. The gates were not announced until directly before boarding was to commence, leaving us running to the gate, where, they boarded an hour late anyway. The planes were not at the gate but were were taken, in no order of seat class down to the tarmac where were were Squished arm to arm into a bus (extremely unsafe in these pandemic times) then driven to the flights. On a total of 4 flights with them not *one were we offered food other than those gross potato chips, we were give a tiny bottle of water and that’s it. On 4 flights that cost us $500-700 PP.
Our luggage was also not put off in priority, we were among the last people to get it.
All in all, I have seen American, United and West Jet (WJ has gone WAY downhill) take a real turn for the worse in the past 2 years. But Aeromexico takes the cake. We will only fly them again if absolutely necessary. This pandemic has been hard on the airlines, but it’s been Two years. Get it together…seriously.
I always loved to flight with Aeroméxico because the attention and the kindness of the crew, but recently I had the worse experience ever.
I went to the airport 4 hours before for me check in cause I flight with my little dog. I was checking in, and one of the dog paperwork was expired for few days and they didn’t allow me to catch the flight, pretty much they cancelled my trip.
So when I came back home with all the frustration of missing your flight, I called the call center to see if I can reschedule my flight .They said that the company doesn’t take that as their fault, so they won’t give me any refund or voucher to use in the future. Also they refused to refund the money that I paid for my dog neither the money that I paid for my luggage.
But saying that, I loose almost $800 Canadian dollars, that I won’t be able to get back.
This kind of situation is the reason that I will probably won’t fly with Aeroméxico again… instead I will keep flying with United or Air Canada that always, have a satisfactory solution for that king of problems.
I will encourage please to get informed before booking with Aeroméxico because they have very tricky policies.
Nice review. BTW, Mexico is not part of Central America
I was heading back from Nicaragua.
