Hi ! Is There any way to have access to the numbers (dates and flights info) ? At first sights, my total appears low considering that I had periods with work related travel.
Thanks
I don’t believe there’s a way to see your complete history. If you think there are some discrepancies, it’s worth getting in touch with Air Canada.
Do you know how the gifting the 50K works once you get 2M miles? One of our family member is sitting at 2.2M miles (~2+ yrs ago), but don’t remember seeing any offers/instructions to add a 50K lifetime gift to another person. We see the usual SE benefits, but don’t see the lifetime 50K gifting options it in his AC account.
It looks like a “regular’ 50K status gift in the Aeroplan account, but the expiration date is different. If you don’t recall having seen it, I’d contact AC and they’ll be able to assist.
So for Lifetime Qualifying Miles, do they only count the miles you’ve flown(just you) or do they count yours and your companion’s miles together if you were the one who bought the tickets?
Only the miles you personally have flown will count towards status.
Hi TJ, nice article. Highly doubt I’ll ever reach Million Mile status – really wish my job paid me to fly – but I was curious if Air Canada codeshare flights apply? Or do the flights have to also be operated by Air Canada? Pure curiosity. Cheers.
I’ve hit the 3 Million mile threshold and the benefits are truly outstanding. I’ve always been loyal to Air Canada and will continue to do so.
Another benefit is your ranking versus other travellers when the Airline considers who to bump, who to make room for, who to award the final upgrade seat to.
With newly minted Elites and SuperElites through various spending programs during the pandemic, having Million Mike status allows the Airline to differentiate among holders of the same current status.
In addition, the Passenger Manifest shows the million mile status to the OnBoard Crew who go out of their way to make you feel valued. So if you are flying in Economy the In Charge might pop by with a free bottle of sparkling wine and say hello or if you are in Business Class, the Concierge might pop on the aircraft prior to takeoff to ensure the crew knows which connection you are making next and to keep you informed.
I learned about the existence of the Program while watching George Clooney in Up in the Air.
Interesting (and very valid) points! It would be interesting to have a breakdown of upgrade priority to reference. Who knows – maybe one day there will be a movie about you! 🙂
These people are just asking to be pollution taxed by the Canadian wealth redistribution bureau. Given today’s tendancy for mob mentality, if you are a million miler, probably best just to keep it to yourself.
And here I am, just hoping to get two F on ANA someday! XD Ah well, if you can make the status, it seems it’s pretty beneficial. Neat breakdown!
AC Million Mile member here. Been in the club for six years. Great benefits and nice to be recognized for flying so much..After being SE for so many years wish it was Elite 75k but can’t complain..Elite 50k is for life..
Nice! I imagine you’ve enjoyed many lounges and eUpgrades over the last six years (and longer!).
The extraordinary power of OPM at work in these lifetime tiers. And I say this as someone who has benefited tremendously from other people’s money for work travel.
Work travel can definitely add up to your benefit 🙂
Are the Lifetime Qualifying Miles = SQMs or purely distance? I know that with other companies like Delta and American track flight distance for the million miler.
My understanding is that SQMs count as long as they were earned on Air Canada. Bonus miles from paying for business class also count. So, it seems to be a bit different than purely distance.
Show off!
